FYidoctors Goes Gold for World Sight Day
World Sight Day is an annual day of action started by the World Health Organization (WHO). During the event, people from around the globe join together to raise awareness and much needed funds for the millions of people without access to basic eye care.
During World Sight Day 2014, FYidoctors raised funds for Optometry Giving Sight’s World Sight Day Challenge campaign. Optometry Giving Sight is an international organization that delivers eye care to underserved communities around the world. As part of these efforts, tens of thousands of children were given eye exams and glasses, with projects in Soweto Africa, El Salvador and Tanzania.
In 2014, 100% of FYidoctors offices participated in the Challenge and helped make World Sight Day such a huge success. In recognition of FYidoctors’ outstanding efforts, Optometry Giving Sight has officially given numerous FYidoctors’ locations Bronze, Silver and Gold designations based on the amount of funds raised.
