Campbell River is well known for its sense of community spirit. This is why the Campbell River and District Chamber of Commerce recently unveiled their “FUTURE15 Awards,” a chance to celebrate the volunteer contributions of professionals between the ages of 19 and 45. The inaugural awards recognized the dedication of 15 winners (taken from a pool of 52 nominees), which included a research scientist, a community manager, a local artist and even a Member of Parliament. Also among the winners was FYidoctors’ very own Dr. Tanya Flood, who earned the award in recognition of her volunteer work with the community.…

Here at FYidoctors, we truly believe in the transformative power of vision. Unfortunately, many Canadians can’t afford to visit an eye care professional or purchase much needed eyewear. As a result, serious vision issues often go undiagnosed and untreated, making an already difficult life all that much harder. That’s why this past fall we teamed up with VSP (a leader in eye care benefits), as well as Buck Consultants (a Xerox Company) and the United Way, to provide a mobile eye care clinic offering free eye exams and glasses to Torontonians in need.
